Peter Kobiela

Born in Mährisch-Ostrau, Germany, Peter Kobiela began his banking career as a trainee at the Stadtsparkasse Frankfurt in 1968. Following a stint at the National Westminster Bank, in 1970 he joined the Hessische Landesbank, now known as the Landesbank Hessen-Thüringen, one of the larger banking institutions in Germany. Kobiela served as head of several departments including the Domestic Syndicated Loans Department and the Real Estate Lending for New Businesses Department. Today a successful economist and banker, Mr. Kobiela has served on the bank’s Board of Managing Directors since 2001. He is currently treasurer of the German Friends of Tel Aviv University, a role he has filled since 2000.
