Cameri Theater of Tel Aviv
Celebrating its 70th anniversary this year, the Cameri is Tel Aviv’s municipal theater. With six auditoria, it is Israel’s largest theatrical venue and has a repertoire featuring both classic and contemporary productions from Israel and abroad. Each year, the Cameri stages approximately 30 productions – including 10 brand new ones – to a total audience of 1 million people from Israel and worldwide. Frequently invited to perform overseas, the Cameri’s productions have garnered over 100 awards, including the Israel Prize for Lifetime Achievement and Special Contribution to the State of Israel. The Cameri also hosts leading theaters from throughout the world. Among the theater’s company are 80 of Israel’s top acting professionals, as well as celebrated directors from Israel and abroad. The Cameri is led by General Director Noam Semel and Artistic Director Omri Nitzan.
